Do you love knitting, painting, paper-making, or collage, but miss having a community to share it with others? Crafting alone at home is wonderful, but creating together brings a whole new layer of joy, inspiration, and friendship. Whether you’re looking for fresh ideas, trying to clear out a mountain of extra supplies, or simply want a welcoming environment to work on your favorite hobby on a weekday afternoon, JCC’s monthly DROP-IN Art À La Carte with Fabric Artist Carol Jones is your space to thrive. This is an open, harmonious gathering where crafters of all skill levels (from complete beginners to seasoned experts) come together to work, chat, and collaborate if they choose. OR, join Carol to learn a new craft…
Carol will lead a craft and participants can choose to participate in her demo craft/art project, or work independently on their own crafting project. This DROP-IN is Free with welcomed donations of $5 or more to support JCC!
Got extra tools, yarn, fabric, or paper taking up space at home? Bring your gently used materials to use, share with others, trade for something new, or possibly donate directly to the community center. Reclaim your afternoon, meet fellow local makers, and enjoy doing what you love in good company.

This amazing dance troupe started as a high school club in 1994 at South Medford High School. In 2006, it became a community program, and in 2014 the group was approved as a federally recognized non-profit organization. Today, Ballet Folklorico Ritmo Alegre performs 20-30 times a year in local events, including the Oregon Shakespeare Festival Green Shows, and the Britt Festival. Ballet Folklorico Ritmo Alegre is dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of traditional Mexican folk dance. Their approach is to empower youth through dance, serve as cultural ambassadors, and promote upcoming events that celebrate the vibrant and passionate art of Mexican folk dance. Founder, Victoria Snow Mountain, a passionate advocate for Mexican folk dance, founded the dance group to encourage Latinx youth to embrace their cultural heritage and create opportunities for all and share the beauty and energy of traditional dance with youth and surrounding communities. Yanelli De La Torre is the group’s Executive Director.

A Community Exchange from the Oregon Education Project
"Why Are Kids Anxious?"
Why are so many children and teens struggling with depression and other mental health challenges today?
Are schools contributing to the problems by focusing so much on a student’s social and emotional life?
Should teachers become classroom therapists — a role they are not trained or rewarded for?
And why does Oregon’s required Transformative Social and Emotional Learning Framework and Standards promote “decentering white middle class values?”
Join us at the Medford Library for an information-rich exchange about how we rebuild Oregon K–12 Education to succeed.
